Charles Richard (Dick) Day, 76, of Jackson, Mich., passed away Jan. 24, 2008.
A family memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in Eaton at the
Evangelical Free Church. The Rev. Rick Howe, a nephew, officiated as
memories of Dick were shared.
Born to Lloyd and Marie Day on Aug. 31, 1931, he grew up on a farm near Glen
Elder, Kan. The Day family moved to Fort Collins in 1946.
Dick graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1949 and from the University
of Colorado.
He became a CPA and also worked as a Realtor.
He married Barbara Koontz Sweet, a young widow with two sons, Tony and
Tyler. The Lord blessed them with a daughter, Tamara Ann.
Following the death of Barbara in Phoenix, Ariz., he moved to live near Tami
and her family in Michigan.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Tami, and son-in-law, Steve Garner; stepson,
Tyler (Kathy) Sweet of Issaquah, Wash.; sisters, Charlene (Bob) Howe of
Greeley, Betty (Lee) Carlson of Eaton; a brother, Ron (Margie) Day of Castle
Rock; grandchildren, Cameron Lind of Phoenix, Kyle, Cassi and Kristen Garner
of Jackson and stepgrandchildren, Tiffany and Piper of Issaquah, and numerous
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a stepson
and an infant sister, Bonnie Jean.
